Does your heart pound, your fingers twitch, feel your 'seat' in the saddle when you watch the movies of the Old West?
Were the Lone Ranger, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, John Wayne some of your cowboy heroes?
Are some of your favorite smells, horses, leather and gun powder?
Do you ever say you were born 100 years to late?
Do you love the "Cowboy Way"?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then you might be a cowboy shooter!!!!!!!
You can join MCMS to experience all the above as either a member who rides and shoots or as an associate. Contact President Bill Ledoux at Sleepy Hollow Acres, 6 Lady Pat Drive, Biddeford, Maine 04005, call at 207-282-2821 or email at cowboybill@maine.rr.com
Mounted Shooting is like barrel racing, with balloons between the barrels. The rider shoots black powder blank ammo provided by the match directors, from .45 caliber pistols, at balloons and is scored on accuracy and time. Think of 'rolling back the clock" to the late 1800's and you will have a pretty good idea of the clothing requirements. All breeds of horses and mules whether registered or not can be used. There are 50+ patterns of which 4 or 6 are chosen the day of the match.
MARCH 27TH NEW SHOOTERS APPLICATION IS ON THE EVENTS PAGE
